Union Pacific 4017
Title:
Union Pacific 4017
Harriman Wyoming (WY), Jumbo/Large Format

Description:
Big Boy, the world's largest steam locomotive was operated by the Union Pacific Railroad and was noted for its service over Sherman Hill in Wyoming. A truly modern steam locomotive, they survived the diesel invasion until July 21, 1959 when Big Boy 4015 was made the last regular steam locomotive run over Sherman Hill. In this view, 4-8-8-4 No. 4017 has a drag freight in tow west of Harriman, Wyo., October 6, 1958. The articulated 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement allowed the front set of drivers to move sideways to negotiate normal track curves. Weighing in at 1.2 million pounds and exerting a tractive effort of 135,375 pounds, these giant locomotives were designed to move the freight at speeds up to 80 miles mils per hour. A total of 25 Big Boys were turned out by the American Locomotive Co., in Schenectady, NY from the time No. 4000 deadheaded west on the New York Central in September 1941 until the last group of five, 4020-4024, were delivered to the Union Pacific in November 1944.

Has man superior right to this foolproof evolution? Fossils reveal that perpetual essence of universal betterment, futhering advancement, strives to evolve perfect life consistently attracting the elements of desired destiny. Mighty Homo, still illadapted; spasmodically extracting insatiable, supreme mortality, may force retrogression to in-grave him, too, among increasing deposits of improved Creations, to amplify instructive petrifaction for God's yet best, brained above aping to assimilate the eternal Good

Dear__________, Just to tell you we're out in Old Wyoming and really seeing wide open country--miles of prairie with nary a tree, but sweet smelling with sage. Often we follow the routes of the pioneers such as the old Overland Trail and see old forts and landmarks of pioneer times. Sometimes we see antelope, deer, elk or other wild game and also cowboys. It's not all prairie, after miles of plains we strike the grandest mountains with lakes and streams and fishing and everything. This country has a real kick and we'll have lots to tell if the old jalopy holds out and we get back home. Yours_______

Description:
The Cradle of fossilized life. Mother Earth's longevity is abundantly confirmed, by the fossil bones of the petrified creatures that enjoyed her first, and ended her longest period of mammal life here. Such mineralized histories alone had the ability to dispel the uncertainty of creation one hundred million years. Creation's desire to give this planet endlessly diversified and improved life, was exemplified here by the beautiful fossilization of its dawn. The perpetual progress implied by the lifestone's of the beginning found throughout this prehistoric dinosaur pasture, may appear slow, because time is endless. Naturally excessive speed destroys adaptability and brings the brakes

Como Bluff Wyoming (WY), Linen unused

Description:
The strangest building in the world made of DINOSAUR BONES "Millions of years old" - Fossil Museum, Como Bluff, Wyoming - Where Creation Petrified its History - On U. S. Highway 30 - Featured by Ripley THE WORLD'S STRANGEST BUILDING Is the only building in the world made of Dinosaur bones. Truly an anatomical study of the world's strangest monsters; 5796 of their bones, weighing 102,116 pounds, are in its walls. One to two hundred million years ago, this bone structure, now petrified, was the framework for physical houses in which lived these animals; the largest land creatures ever created. So in reality, you now see the oldest bone house of creation on this planet. These torpid reptiles, extinct sixty million years, thrived in torrid heat for an estimated period of one hundred-forty million years, in lands known as WYOMING now. Scientific scholars say such early bodies formed many of earth's oil deposits. In effect this strange house is a 5796 page book of creational hieroglyphics, symbolic of strange ages; from the most extensively exposed Dinosaur graveyard on earth, Como Bluff, Wyoming, where Creation petrified its history. Carnivora vs Herbivora
Como Bluff Wyoming (WY), Linen unused

Description:
The first land battle as pictured by geological records, was a war for life between Carnivorous and Herbivorous prehistoric monsters. One hundred million years of struggle. Slowly, during all these ages, climatic changes worked to eliminate both contestants, inducing a physical modification of less armored, furred animals, able to live through even glacial epochs. Long cold periods contract nutriments; reduce annatomies and make them think of all foods in order to survive. Gradually, thinking evolved constructive thought, deprimitive homo that has learned to become master of all animation; but unable to find other aggressors continues to carnage, even himself!

View from "Square G Ranch"
Jenny Lake Wyoming (WY), Linen unused

Description:
Well, here we are in this wonderful Jackson's Hole country. One of the most beautiful places in the world. A valley 7,000 feet high, about twelve miles wide, entirely surrounded by high timbered mountain ranges. There are only four passes entering the valley. Trout abound in the many streams and lakes. Clear cold mountain streams flow from the ice and snow banks, winding their way to the lakes and to the Snake River which runs through the entire length of the valley. This is the home of 20,000 head of elk, hundreds of moose, deer and bear, besides numerous other wild animals. Moose, bear and deer are seen occasionally here at our cabin. Practically all of Jackson's Hole scenery is in Grand Teton National Park and Teton National Forest, in which there are 1100 miles of forest trails for saddle horses, which are available, and for hiking trips. It is a wonderland. The view on this card is from the Square G Ranch which adjoins Grand Teton National Park. We are occupying one of the log cabins. Our cabin is furnished throughout with hand-made lodgepole pine furniture. We are real close to the peaks, canyons, streams, lakes and trails. When you come to Jackson's Hole, be sure and come to one of these log cabins; they are something different: such fun; you will enjoy them. Make your reservation to the Square G Ranch, Jenny Lake, Wyoming
