Or the Broomclaw, asit is frequently called, is a substantial eight-arched structure opened for traffic in 1899. It replaces a fine bridge built by Telford in 1836, but which after some years was found totally inadequate for the growing needs of the city. A portion of Telford's bridge was included in the new structure, which cost nearly L100,000. The Caledonian Hallway Bridge is situated a short distance further west.

Charles F. Flown Situated on the Eastern side of George Square. They occupy ground to the extent of 1 1/4 acres, and were erected in 1883-8 from designs by Mr. William Young. The walls rise to an average height of 75 feet, the buildings being capped by a tower 240 feet high. In the centre of George Square are gardens and statues, including the Scott Monument, a fluted Doric column 80 feet high, surmounted by a statue of Sir Walter Scott by H. Ritchie.

The Art Galleries are the chief architectural glory of Kelvingrove park, a well laid out area of 91 acres acquired by the by the corporation in 1852, and added to from time to time. The building is 448 feet long and 236 feet wide, the central tower rising to a height of 172 feet and in it are stored many famous art treasure.

A stone pier at the side of the harbour was erected by John Rennie in 1515 and the Lighthouse at the end in 1529.
