Mining is still carried on extensively in the area, particularly at lead and great quantities of ??? are reduced at Deadwood. The "Days of '76" celebration is held in early August each year, combing a rodeo with early day Gold Rush scenes. The "Trial of Jack McCall for the murder of Wild Bill Hickok" is staged several nights during the summer. Interesting points to visit are Mt. Moriah Cemetery on Hill overlooking the city, containing graves of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Preacher Smithy and Potato Creek Johnny. The Adams Memorial contains historical collection, reminiscent of Pioneer Life in the Black Hills
