Additional Details:
A picturesque city in the Black Hills, reminiscent of wild frontier and mining days. Mining is still carried on extensively, particularly for lead. The 'Days of 76' celebration is held annually, featuring a rodeo and Gold Rush scenes. The 'Trial of Jack McCall for the murder of Wild Bill Hickok' is staged during the summer. Points of interest include Mt. Moriah Cemetery, with graves of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Preacher Smith, and Potato Creek Johnny, and the Adams Memorial, which houses a historical collection of pioneer life.
