This picture was taken at Muscle Shoals when
President John F. Kennedy visited the Florence-
Tuscumbia-Sheffield-Muscle Shoals-Huntsville cities
in May, 1963. While generally unpopular in the
state of Alabama, the "Died in the wool" Demo-
crats and party professionals along with govern-
ment employees made up a crowd of some
10,000 when this picture was taken.
