Houston of Philadelphia, formerly contained facilities for a small chapel, library, classrooms, offices, and student housing. It now serves exclusively as a dormitory. Vail Memorial Library, erected in 1898, was a gift of Dr. William H. Vail of New Jersey. The capacity was doubled when an extension was added in 1953.
