This remnant of a great primeval forest situated one-half mile south of the Tower Fall-Mammoth Highway on a spur road is protected from souvenir collectors by an iron fence. Dr. Ralph W. Chaney estimates the age of this petrification at 'Not less than 40 Million Years.'
