Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Additional Details:
| The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone begins just south of the Upper Falls and continues northward for more than 25 miles; it is from 1,000 to 1,800 feet deep and varies from a few hundred feet to more than a mile in width. The walls of the canyon are formed of rhyolite on which the thermal action of hot water and steam has worked many changes. From this cause comes the tremendous variety in coloring. |
