| This view from East Tower looking toward Delaware, shows connecting link between States of Delaware and New Jersey. The single suspension bridge is seventh longest in the world. It is 1028 feet between Towers. Top of towers are 400 feet above water level. A second span now under construction will provide four lanes of traffic east and west by 1967. An average of one million vehicles cross span each month. |
