Description:
Main and Sixth Street - Old Bank Robbed, 1868. Part of the building pictured here, was erected about 1810 by William Harrison. It was used as a residence by him and later by a family by name of Norton. In 1857 the front part of the structure was completed for use by the Southern Bank of Kentucky. On March 20, 1868, this was the scene of a holdup by the notorious Jesse James gang, who escaped with over $9,000.00 after the bank president was wounded.

Description:
The Country was named in 1792 for General Benjamin Logan (1743-1802). He was a pioneer and Indian fighter who called the Danville assembly in 1784 leading up to the separation of Kentucky from Virginia in 1792. Logan County was formed from part of Lincoln Country and was organized immediately after Kentucky was admitted to the Union
