ESTABLISHED CHRISTMAS DAY 1835 - A log fort was occupied on Christmas Day in a fight against Seminoles. Christmas, established in a siege of war, is dedicated to the cause of Peace. FIRST SETTLERS- Among the first settlers were J. R. A. Tucker, Albert Roberts, Andrew Jackson Barber, W. J. Osteen, and Samuel and Henry Hodges. they envisioned a land of Peace and Brotherhood. Their descendants work toward that vision. POST OFFICE ESTABLISHED 1892- Christmas, Fla. post office was established June 27, 1892. At Christmas the races of the world meet in the Spirit of Love for God and Man. INDUSTRIES- Cattle, Citrus Groves, Farming. Most important business: Worshipping God; Being our Brother's Keeper, Promoting Love, Justice, and Good Will. POPULATION- 250.
