Description:
The Queen's Dolls House Series II, 4501 The drawing room or grand saloon of the Queen's Dolls' House occupies the first floor of the garden side of the house. Here are two silver chairs on a dais under a canopy suggestive of state ceremonial. Over the beautiful fireplace is a replica of Cope's famous portrait of the Electress Sophia of Hungary. Sir John Lavery has contributed a miniature replica of his portrait of King Edward and here, too, are Sir William Orpen's portraits of King George and Queen Mary. Rose silk hangings on the walls adorn a room that might well be in one of the Royal Palaces. The little gilt busts on the mantlepiece were given by Lady Patricia Ramsay.
