Description:
Arlington, Vermont is an historic town between Taconia and Green Mountain ranges in south-western Vermont. On US 7 it is half way between New York and Montreal. Former home of Ethan Allen, Remember Baker and Matthew Lyons. Here the first governor of Vermont, Thomas Chittenden lived and conducted the state government during and after the Revolution. Settled in 1762

This is known as the "Chiselville bridge," so named because of a wood-working plant which once stood nearby. It is located on the East Arlington - Sunderland road, and was built in 1870. The bridge follows he town lattice plan of construction, and is 117 feet long.
