Cemetery dates from 1772. Many of Georgetown's notables are buried in the pre-revolutionary cemetery, including one of the city's first mayors. Old ballast brick used in sailing ships from England can be found in the cemetery.

The Episcopal Parish of Prince George winy was founded in 1721 and named in honor of King George II. The building was erected with brick brought from England. British troops used the church as a house stable and partially burned it during the Revolutionary War

Rebuilt in 1842, on site of old slave market the present structure is an exact brick replica of the old wooden market building destroyed in the hurricane of 1829. The unsual building has been used as city hall, market jail, printing shop, and is now the officer of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and police department.
