Description:
Babcock Hall, the gift of Birt E. Babcock, of the Class of 1894, was officially opened for service in 1936. It houses 85 senior women. All the equipment, furnishings, serving units and social rooms for dancing and other entertainment are modern and complete. The college bakeshop and refrigerating units are located in the basement of this hall. Holden Hall is occupied by sophomore and junior women. The building is named for Dr. Louis E. Holden, fourth president of the College. It contains two dining halls, parlors and social rooms

The dormitories are open to students only during college sessions. These halls are later used for alumni accommodations during commencement. Douglass Hall is the dormitory for the freshmen of the college. It is occupied by approximately 100 students. This dormitory was given to the college by E. P. Douglass of the Class of 1877. The equipment includes a lounging room, reading room, game room and social hall for dancing and other entertainment

The College of Wooster was founded in 1866. It has a beautiful 110 acre campus with 16 English collegiate Gothic buildings. All buildings which are in use on the campus at the present time have been constructed since 1900 with three exceptions; Hoover Cottage, the Observatory and the old Gymnasium. Among the three buildings, Hoover Cottage is the only old building which is in academic service today. In form and function, the campus presents an outstanding example among American colleges in unity, symmetry and beauty

Description:
Wayne County was established by Governor Arthur St. Clair in 1796. It was the sixth county formed in the Northwest Territory and the third in Ohio. Wooster was founded in 1808 and in 1881 was made a county seat, named in honor of David Wooster, a General of the Revolutionary War. The first house built in town and in Wayne County was a log cabin on East Liberty Street. Between 1808 and 1810 a wagon road was built from Wooster to Massillon and Canton. Wooster was incorporated in 1817
