Description:
Dewberries is a principal crop with the growers of small fruit, and the varieties grown in the Emmett Fruit Belt are large and highly flavored and command the highest prices. The ripening follows immediately after strawberry picking is over, and forms one link in the chain of continuous fruit harvest. From $600 to $1000 per acre net is common with this class of small fruit. This view is an actual photograph taken on the Hopper Ranch, near Emmett

Description:
Only two years have elapsed since the ranch shown in this picture was in sagebrush. Originally a homestead, the owner, Mr. Hopper, has disposed of a portion of this land at over $300 an acre. He has refused many offers of $25,000 for the remaining portion. Many other instances are scarcely less remarkable in the fruit district of the Emmett Valley. While Emmett has not bee extensively advertised, the opportunity for permanent settlers either with or without means, is unprecedented. Fortunes have been accumulated in a few years by settlers who came here comparatively poor

A profusion of luxuriantly flowering shrubbery surrounds may of these homes, and the velvety bluegrass lawns are equalled only in the famous bluegrass region of Kentucky. Within a day's drive of this beautiful city, elk, deer, bear and other big game abound. Water-fowl, game birds and mountain trout are plentiful here amid the scenic grandeur of the Rocky Mountains.
