In this Church on Dec. 15 1873 208 crusaders met organized and became the first women's Christian Temperance Union of the world. Erected by the Crusade Union of Fredonia Dec. 15 1921. The Birthplace of the W.C.T.U. The First Baptist Church, Fredonia, N.Y. was organized Oct. 20, 1808. It is the oldest Baptist Church in Chautauqua County. It was the second church of any denomination to organize in Chautauqua County. In this church the Women's Christian Temperance Union was organized Dec. 15, 1873.
