Frank D. Kelley Duncan Plaza - The focal point of the center is a park like place for public gatherings: dedicated to James Duncan, founder of the city of Massillon in 1826. The flag pole commemorated the founding of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, organized in Massillon in 1885. Duncan's wife named the newly-created town "Massillon" after Louis XIV's Bishop of Clermont Jean-Baptiste Massillon.
