BUSHMAN was captured in Equatorial West Africa in 1929, when one year old. He was sold to Lincoln Park Zoo for $3500.00 and arrived in Chicago August 15, 1930, weighing 30 pounds. Authorities pronounce him the finest physical specimen of gorilla in captivity. He stands approximately 6 feet 2 inches and weighs about 550 pounds. Strictly a vegetarian, he consumes an average of 22 pounds of fresh vegetables, cereals, and whole milk daily, supplemented with vitamin capsules
