Corning, New York recognizes Alden C. Johnson as one of its finest copper wheel engravers. He specialized in this work for 54 years with T. G. Hawkes & Co. Now in retirement, his only engraving is a limited output exclusively for The Glass Shop, 10 West Market, Corning. The vintage or grape pattern he is engraving on the candle holders is a beautiful design first cut here early in 1900. The Glass Shop is open year round, and evenings June 1 to October 1.
