In the Fur-cutting Department of the John B. Stetson Company, eleven and a half million skins are handled annually. The prepared skins are fed into the machines, which convert the pelt into fine shreds, the fur emerging apparently untouched. The cut fur is carefully graded as to color and quality, and is used to form the hat bodies.

THE EAGLEâLocated In the center of the Grand Court in the John Wanamaker Main Store, has been the meeting place of thousands of Philadelphians since it was brought to the store from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904. All the parts--the heavy plates that form the inner structure, the features and other surface parts were made separately. Each individual feather was made by hand. This imposing monument has become a landmark in Philadelphia and "Meet me at the Eagle" has become a byword with its citizens.
