N. J.-A section of Hamilton Court with Holder Tower
rising in the background. An inscription in the archway
is in honor of Acting Governor John Hamilton, for whom
Hamilton Hall is named. He granted the first Charter to
the University, then known as the College of New Jersey,
on October 22, 1746.
