The Clam Tree (Steamerus edibila) was adopted as the
official "State" Tree by the Cape Cod Postcard Collec-
tors Club in honor of National Postcard Week-1991.
It is a salt water tree bearing rich, succulent fruit. When
cooked (steamed open) and served with melted butter
and/or lemon wedges, the fruit is most edible.
