  So sorry to hear they tore down this family beachside hotel. I was there with my family in the 1960's when I was 3 and then again at age 5. I remember my Dad taking me down the slide and going underwater for the first time. Having fun standing on the sand with the waves lapping at our feet, and the feel of the strong undertow of the sand, made me laugh. Getting lost with my sister trying to find our room, and I recall we walked into a lounge. I remember a pretty lady with a gown sitting atop a piano and singing, and she smiled and winked when she saw us. I still have those memories and postcards from the mid-century Heathwood hotel. It was and will be a fun time in my memory. Just sad they tore it down and didn't try to restore it.
