Minnesota Capitol Interior Vista Through center of building. The steps, rails, and bases of the staircases are of Hauteville marble, which resembles casita stone in color but is harder and susceptible of a higher polish. The Columns and Pilasters, have Corinthian capitals into which the showey lady slipper, the state flower, has been introduced, in toned down gold to harmonize with the casita stone.
