The Bridle now preserved in the Vestry of the
Church as above was presented to Walton about
200 years ago, by a person named Chester who lost
a valuable Estate in the neighbourhood through the
instrumentality of a gossiping Woman. The,, Bridle
Bit" is a flat piece of steel about two inches long
which goes into the mouth, keeping the tongue down
by pressure. (See sketch in corner of card.).
