The new turbo-electric liners CALIFORNIA, VIR-
GINIA, and PENNSYLVANIA, of the Panama Pa-
cific Line, are in regular service between New York
and California in both directions by way of Havana
and the Panama Canal. These vessels, known as the
BIG THREE, are the largest ships in coast-to-coast
service, each liner being more than 600 feet long and
over 30,000 tons displacement.
