The "Old Black Bridge", as Frankenmuthers refer to it, is located on Dehmel Road, one mile west of downtown Frankenmuth. Bridge spans Cass River, named after former territorial Governor of Michigan, Lewis Cass. This steel construction create nostalgic foreground to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Church was named after home churches of founding fathers - St. Laurentlus in Neuendettelsau and Rosstal and sty. Laurentius in Neuendettelsau and Rosstal and St. Lorenz in Nuernberg. Winter Visitors find route over the "Old Black Bridge" a venture into yester year. |
