BROOME COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Court House Square Binghamton, New York
Located on a plot of ground donated to the village for a public square in the early 1800's
by Joshua Whitney. The present Court House is the fourth and stands majestically as a symbol
of justice. The Broome County Court House is located in the center of Binghamton, the busiest
metropolis of the Southern Tier. The statue located in front of the Court House steps is that
of Daniel S. Dickinson. Dickinson was a famous citizen who headed Binghamton's first village
government. He was a personal friend of President Lincoln and Daniel Webster.
