THE NEW HOME OF BARKER BROS., Complete Furnishers of
Successful Homes, at SEVENTH STREET, Flower and Figueroa, Los Angeles
This new home of Barker Bros. is said to be the largest building of its kind in the
entire world devoted exclusively to furniture and home furnishings. The building
is a block long on Seventh Street, half a block wide on Flower and Figueroa, limit height,
steel frame, Class A. It has thirteen floors, totalıng about 11/3 acres of floor space.
The style of the building is Italian, inspired mainly by the Strozzi Palace in Florence.
It boasts numbers of interesting and novel features, among them the automatic tele-
phone system, of which there are only a few in the entire country; three pipe
organs; the tea room; the Ainslie Art Gallery; the auditorium; the galeria; the
oriental shop-all dedicated to greater beauty and more efficient service to home-
lovers throughout the country.
