The steel train sheds at the New Union Ston
Kansas City, are 1400 feet long and cover an area
are 830 PM
of 430,000 square feet. They afford space for 1915
thirty-two trains at one time. All of the Rain
tracks are on a level below the waiting rooms

Elevators and stairs lead from the main portion of
the station to the trains below.
This view was made from the Main Street
viaduct which leads street railway and vehicle
traffic directly over the train sheds. The station
buildings cost six million dollars; the entire
Kansas City Terminal project approximately fifty
million dollars. The Station was opened in 1914.
