work in North of France. - A French
cartoonist at the commencement of the war
depicted Napoleon Bonaparte rising from his
tomb and crying, “Vive l'Angleterre!” The two
ancient enemies, whose chivalrous wars had
never left a blood-feud behind, are now friends
once and for all, fighting together for Europe
and civili ation. The reality of the struggle is
brought home to us by the picture of first aid
rendered in the trenches. The Red Cross work,
both English and French, is well organised and
highly efficient.
