BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA
Barstow was once a desert junction for the overland wagon
trains that came west. Later it was an outfitting point for
Death Valley expeditions, along with its sister town of
Daggett, and to the mines located on the great Mojave Desert.
Barstow was first called Waterman Junction by the railroad
and had been called Grapevine. Barstow was the middle name
of William Barstow Strong, early railroad president . . .M.P.
