This mural at Speedway and 18th Avenue in
Venice was painted by Rip Cronk as a tribute
to Jim Morrison who died in 1971. Jim was the
lead singer of the “The Doors”, a rock & roll
band that performed regularly at the Cheetah
on the Ocean Park Pier.
