Born in Boston Feb. 2, 1860. He graduated from Harvard in 1881 with highest honors and then associated himself with his father in the publishing business. During the Spanish-American War served as Inspector General under Gen Fitzhugh Lee with rank of Col. of U.S. Volunteers. In 1902, 1903 and 1904 elected Lieut Gov. of Mass. Elected Gov. in 1905, 1906 and 1907. Recognized both in State and nation as one of our strong political leaders, - esteemed and admired as a man.
