The Vehicle is a remodeled 1955 GMC Scenicruiser equip-
ped with three air conditioners, a redwood hot tub, and a
special third story compartment constructed from the roof of a
Volkswagen bug and containing a second complete set of con.
trols which allow Gilbert Shelton to relieve the regular driver
any time he wants to.
Rip Oft Press employees take an average of 15 or 20 holidays
per year, anywhere in length from 200 miles (The annual frog
jumping contest of Calaveras County, Calif.) to 3,000 miles (the
annual Daytona Beach riots). The bus is known and feared at
every roadside restaurant on Interstate 10 between Los
Angeles and Luckenbach, Texas.
