Doug Amick and Mark I Prototype
Additional Details:
When electric drive was added, this became the world's first wind powered highway vehicle. Windmobiles, invented by James L. Amick, sail on highways. Efficient aerodynamics allow speeds above 55 mph. from crosswinds above 13 mph. Batteries provide backup power and partially recharge from excess wind. Driving the windmobile is simple. Wind is an indirect form of solar energy. Larger windmobiles can partially recharge batteries from sunlight.
