This spectacular automobile is unique among mobile sound equipment and is offered as a service to civic, patriotic, and sports event organizations throughout Southern California by General Petroleum Corporation. The car was custom built in 1937 by Bohman & Son of Pasadena, California, for the motion picture "Topper." Since then, it has been modernized with a jet-type front end. The present motor is an 8-cylinder valve-in-head engine manufactured by General Motors. The compression ratio is 7 to 1, horsepower 150 at 3600 revolutions per minute. Care weight, 5000 pounds. The sound system can broadcast over an area of 100 acres. Speaker horns, microphones, cables, and other equipment are carried in a "tear drop" custom-built trailer weighing 1800 pounds loaded. The trailer is designed in harmony with the streamlined body of the car.
