Fully equipped for field service, this Corporal of the 6th Pennsylvania Battalion typified the men of the continental Line at their best. His badge of rank is the green worsted epaulet on the right shoulder. His canteen of iron bound wood, his canvas haversack, painted canvas knapsack, and the buff leather cross belts are in good condition and properly adjusted. He is armed with a French musket and bayonet. The blue coat faced red, later became the official uniform for all Pennsylvania troops.
