First Methodist Church, Savannah, Tenn.
The Savannah Methodist Church which later became
First Methodist Church was organized in 1845. This
building was struck by lightning and so badly dam-
aged it was completely torn away. The corner stone of
the present auditorium was laid in March 1874, it was
completed in 1875. P. A. Sowel was first Pastor.
