Beisa Antelope These antelopes (natives of
Southern Africa) are shy and wary and in open country
are difficult to approach on foot; if pursued on horse-
back they run at a steady gallop, which they can
maintain for long distances. Fleet and enduring as
they undoubtedly are however, they are inferior in
speed to many of the other large antelopes.
