This is one of the most interesting railway
depots in this country, as it is from this depot
that trains leave for the nine-mile climb up
Pike's Peak. Lieutenant Pike, who discovered
this famous mountain, solemnly declared, "I be-
lieve no human being can ascend to its pinnacie.'
He was wrong—a train carries thousands to the
summit each year.
