Additional Details:
When General Moses Cleveland laid out a town site on Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, in 1792, he unknowingly selected a logical meeting place for iron ore which would be discovered in the Lake Superior region and coal from Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Cuyahoga River Valley is noted for its steel mills and heavy industries.
