This thriving town in Coachella Valley is a gate-
way into Southern California where several
main highways converge. It is the center of a
great agricultural belt that produces an early
variety of grapes, the sweetest grapefruit on the
market and over 95% of all the dates raised in
the U.S.A. Each February, Indio is the home of
the National Date Festival, an unusual and ex-
citing event that attracts visitors from all over
the nation.
