CANAL BOAT “MONTICELLO II"
COSHOCTON, OHIO
August 21, 1830, the first canal boat, The MONTI-
CELLO, arrived at Roscoe and Coshocton. "The
townspeople were filled with awe and wonder!"
MONTICELLO II now plys a one-mile restored sec-
tion of the old Ohio-Erie Canal. The craft is 78'
long, 14 12' wide. It travels at 34 miles per hour and
holds over 100 passengers,
