During the war this site was used as a beruiting ang drill-
ground, and afterwards as the State Fair Ground Y dihow
situated in the fashionable residence section f the City. Its
shady walks and velvety lawn attract hundreds Aldron
and their nurses. It was first intended to erect the Davis
Monument in this park and a corner-stone was laid near
fountain.
