Overlooking world famed San Francisco Bay, Fort Mason was established in 1850 named after Col. R.B. Mason, 1st Regiment of Dragoons USA. Governor of California 1847-1849. It is now headquarters for Pacific Transportation Terminal Command, Oakland Terminal Supply Command, San Francisco Overseas Supply Agency & Military Sea Transport Service a Naval Agency.
