Black Bear

| Black bears may be wither black, brown, or cinnamon colored and they are the most common species found in Yellowstone, of which there are about 400; they are also found in high elevations throughout the intermountain West. The adult boar averages 250 pounds. They readily climb trees and are very quick, strong and agile. |
