The Coliseum is located on Wabash Avenue near 16th Street. It is an immense building, 378 by 170 feet and 105 feet high to the dome, with a seating capacity for about 13,000 persons. It is used for automobile, land and electrical exhibitions, advertising and business shows, and also for the National Political Conventions, which are held in Chicago. For many years the Old Libby Prison, moved to Chicago from Richmond, occupied this site. Curt Teich & Co. |
