Beautiful Northeast Georgia, Tallulah Point
Additional Details:
The Point hangs on the very rim, 1,200 feet over the floor of the great Tallulah Gorge. In summer a thousand travelers a day on U. S. 23 and 441 stop here and gaze into the void cut through hard quartzite rock by the Tallulah River. Before being harnessed for hydroelectric power the river, in less than a mile, cascaded down 608 feet in five great leaps over locoer, Tempesta, Hurricane, Oceana and Bridal Veil Falls. |
